Seeing the thread about hubs reminded me that i have a slight problem with my hope hub. The free hub body has seized onto the axle (well it looks like teh bearing has siezed onto the axle to be precise) and i've had little joy in removing it. The hub still works fine, its just a annual service on the free hub pawls & springs. Any ideas? I've thought about using a bearing puller with a sacrifical cassete but im not sure if the lock ring will tear the threads off in the freehub body.

Knock the axle and freehub out of the hub body, then sit the freehub on the jaws of a vice with the axle hanging between the jaws and ****t the top end of the axle with a no.1 persuader.

If you drop a wide topped m5 screw into the axle before you hit it, you won't mushroom it.
I'd remove it by hitting the drive side, so you remove the rotor side bearing and do it all in one go.
