[#1417458]

I've got an old wheel with a 5-bolt Hope hub on a Mavic 321 rim. I just noticed that the QR bit unscrews leaving a big hole right through, so it looks like it could be used with a 20mm bolt-through adaptor. Given I've just got a set of 20mm bolt through Pikes it'd be useful having this as a spare wheel, so could anyone point me in the direction of whatever adaptor I need to buy?

I had a look at the Hope site and they had a diagram for the Bulb hub that looks very similar to my one (including the QR adaptor that screws into it), except that was 6-bolt and mine is 5.

Email hope to see if the Pro II 20mm adapters fit into a bulb hub?

The original BULB bubs were 5 bolt (with a spider). Hope should still do the required bulb adaptor to make it 20mm. I'm fairly sure a Pro II adaptor won't fit...

Hope that helps,

Edd

Pro 2 adaptors don't fit, but I'm fairly certain the the proper bulb adaptors are still available.

Grat hubs too, mine are almost 9 years old, and are still running like new on the origional bearings. only had to regrease the frehub a few times too.

Thanks for that. It sounds like it probably is one of the original Bulb hubs then (it does have a spider), so I'll contact Hope and see if they can point me in the direction of the appropriate adaptor.
