[#4326393]

Firstly I have checked out Hope's website and am none the wiser.

Brakes are Mono Minis but not exactly sure of what ones - they are blue and have carbon levers.

Brake lever does not return when pulled so effectively stays in brake mode and wheel does not move.

I'm sure that only a minor adjustment is needed but how?

Thanks as always. 🙂

Drop of oil on the lever pivot would be my first choice.

^ this first. Then loosen the lever pivot bolt 1/4 turn. If not been used for a while can stick a bit when first use

Thanks Dibbs but what is the lever pivot please?

Bike hasn't been used but reckon that problem occurred due to moving the bike next to it and somehow caught the lever.

This can be the lever pivot bolt too tight, muck and gung around the brass barrel in the lever and I've also come across broken springs in the master cylinder which requires a lever rebuild.

You could remove the lever and see if things ease off. If they do, it's the lever and just needs a clean/adjust, if not, lever rebuild it is.

what is the lever pivot please?

where the lever attaches to the caliper there will be a round thing bit like a rivet or a bolt - think they look copper in colour - this is the pivot bolt

at three o clock on this where the lever caliper are connected

If they are blue with carbon levers then this was the Pro version I think (basically the same except it cost more and had carbon/titanium bits)

Just a little update ... thanks to your advice brake lever now springs back although haven't managed to get both brakes with equal pull. But I'm happy cos it works so high-five to the STW'ers. 8)
