Anyone know if the Hope Bottom Bracket Bearing Tool will work on a shimano outboard BB cup?

If you mean the tool that tightens the cup into the frame then yes as it's a generic tool. I have a Hope BB and use a standard Park tools tool to tighten the cups. HTH

Possibly, the only problem I can foresee is the shimano bearings have a slightly larger ID than the hope bearings, so removal might be a little more fiddly.
The OD of the bearings is the same, so installation should be ok.

Anyone own one, who could comment?
Internal diameter of the cup sleeve and external diameter of the bearing contact point (for removal) would be fantastic to know?
