Hi, anyone know the number for the bearings on a hope BB? Are there SKF alternatives to buying from a bike shop?
Seems daft that they're £40 for a pair.
Can get a whole new BB for £55 odd.

Assuming you mean HT2 then AFAIK they are Hope specific.

£15 each for steel, £30 each for ceramic, from my LBS.

Oh dear, thanks reggie.
Would I need one of the bearings (£15) or two (£30) for a BB?
Otherwise, does anyone have an idea which BB manufacturers don't use custom bearings and so should be cheaper to replace?
Thanks again.

Most HT2 (NOT GXP) BBs can be fitted with 68052RS bearings AFAIK. Bearing tool can be had from BETD - they'll do it free if you buy 5 sets of bearings (I think).

I bought some 6805 bearings from AK Bearings at £3 a pair, fit my BB cups perfectly. If they last 3 or 4 months I'll be happy 🙂

If you can give the sizes of the bearings I.D. O.D and thickness I can check to see if SKF do a bearing. I assume they're ball bearings?

There's your answer me and woody must having been typing at the same time!
I'd buy them.
However SKF do a 61805 bearing which has sizes 25,37,7mm.

I have got an ERIKS supplier near me (they're national) and they've been happy to price match ebay shop sellers and BETD with SKF bearings (so no wait for postage).
Recommended.

61805 won't be a direct swap for the Hope, don't know if they fit the cups, but they need plastic top hats to fit the axle, Hope run directly on theirs.
