Cardboard can get wet and floppy, though I don't think it'll rain.Best buy a nice sheet of insoluble carbon fibre [;)]
Actually It's just occurred to me that I could get one of my temps to run along side me giving me directions, these Eastern Europeans are good at running.
You get a map on the day and the direction too.
Righty-ho - feel better about navigating now.
Now to fashion a map holder ๐
You don't really need the map unless you get really lost - the written directions are most useful in my experience though it's worth having a speedo set to kilometres so you know how far you've gone from the last checkpoint to help you navigate.
I roll in km anyway ๐
Il be on a singular griffin drop bar 29er niche same as the on in stu's pic.
As fivebar said earlier trails are fantastic at the moment and we had trouble with dust last night! If the weather doesn't break between now and sun small block 8's would be my choice if I had some in 29! If it rains a bit then that's ok as it'll dampen the dust down!
Shout abuse as you ride by and watch out you don't get sailored ๐
Whats that on your shoe Sheldon?
๐
SSP
OOOOOOOOOOO Sailor....... ๐
What is being sailored? Is it a bit like being teabagged?
I am sticking with clubber as he has a GPS. Will be riding my Merida carbon with Barro race tyres and all my gears if I can convert it in time. Skiving Friday might be necessary.
Entered under LVIS as clubber will be holding my hand all the way round.
with my gps, it sounds like i'll have an entourage ๐
I won't be using GPS.
I won't need to look at the map.
I won't even bother to read the instruction sheet.
I won't be blindly following the rider in front (even if she does have a nice arse) ๐
cheat! ๐
But you will be getting sailored Graham ๐
Hey Stu, is your rear tyre a little flat?
I'doing it for the first time, so if you see a girl on a Scott Scale 60 (with Fire XC on) say hello cos I'm riding by myself as none of my mates ride ๐
I'll be on a green Paul Milne Cross(dresser)bike. Conti somethings front and rear.
Clubber - you better remember those wheels, otherwise I'll be carrying it ๐
I'll be
wearing my Huddersfield Star Wheeler jersey
riding my Spez Epic, thought about the cross bike but it looks far to dry and I'm to unfit.
with Conti speed kind supers
and as I've found my GPS I'll be occasionally checking it as I haven't lived in the Cotswolds for 10 years.
Keyses, you welcome to tag along with the cc-cc group.
Guaranteed not to get lost..
(really, really embarrassing if I can't follow my own route)
graham you old dog ๐
ihn - no worries, i'll have the wheels ๐
You can all play chase the fat lad on the silver Trance X0 with Racing Ralphs *thanks John!*
Think James Corden with a white and silver Bell Sweep on his bonce
Really looking forward to it
Nettles, to make you even more jealous, there's already a very attrative young lady that'll be riding round in our group ๐
Clubber Ill pay you to forget the wheels as I'd love to see IHN running in his camp style with cross dresser bike upon his shoulder ๐
IHN - Member

I guess I'll be the one on the Kona Jake then
I guess I'll be the one on the Kona Jake then
I think that might make you one of about 100...
Entered under LVIS as clubber will be holding my hand all the way round.
What literally? Is there something you want to tell us Hwe?
I'll be riding a black Genesis Vapour with 35mm Speed Kings. Or if I'm feeling weak minded a Commencal Meta 5 with the slickest tyres I can find in the garage.
No team kit to identify me (pull your finger out Gary ) but I'll be the one wheezing and coughing and making lots of excuses.
I think that might make you one of about 100...
sorry you're right, I'm the really hansome one on the Jake making nettles look silly...(possibly not)
What literally? Is there something you want to tell us Hwe?
Well we're all a very friendly bunch in LVIS... ๐
As long as Hwe doesn't bring that sort of behaviour to the Cheesy Riders; he's quite promiscuous with his bike clubs you know.
Yeah, Hwe will [s]sleep[/s] ride with anyone these days... ๐
That said, there's been quite a bit of mingling of clubs lately - the cheesy riders and the bristol mountain bike club went trail building together! It's all getting a bit warm and fuzzy - like it! ๐
and after last night's ride/desperate effort to do some last minute training, I'm thinking that I haven't been out on the bike enough recently to be using my racing saddle (spesh toupe) for HONC... I think I may swap it for the one on my mtb which has more (some!) padding...
I'll have a cheese board fitted to the bike Clubber if you need a slice of cheddar to ease the chaffing ๐
I'm planning to take some nice fillet steak with me ๐
Might bbq it after ๐ฏ
I'll be riding the Anthem that creaks from all sorts of places so I don't expect much company on the way around (it's annoying enough riding the thing :p )
Would not a soft cheese be more useful than a hard cheese like chedder?
I'd end up soft underneath clubber ๐
BBQ clubber? Steak tartar is where its at man ๐ก
I'll be there, singular jersey and singular gryphon drop bars. Say hello if you see me...will be with Singular Sam and a good few others on singlecrossers
is "singlecrossers" slang for cross dressing lonely hearts? ๐
Graham, is it right that the gps file is quite rough and doesn't really follow the trails/roads and really just matches up at the waypoints?
