I replaced one on an rp23 earlier this year, bought a tool of ebay for about £7, an easy job with the right tool. TBH if I add up what i spent it would probably have been cheaper to hand the shock in to my LBS.

Dead simple. I use a couple of sockets and a vice.

Aye, sockets and vice here too, til recently when I got a nice wee ebay bushing driver for about a fiver, just because I like tools.
