I'm currently in the process of getting a brake upgrade and was just wondering would I be better off with bike specific insurance to cover me for this. Or should I just change the value of the bike on my contents?

Change the value on your contents!

Bike specific insurance is a rip off and full of get out clauses! You'd have to bend over backwards to fully comply with their terms. I don't even think they offer new for old.

Thanks sounds as much of a rip off as mobile insurance then.

I am a second for the house insurance approach. Did a quote this year for my four bikes and it was going to cost me nearly £350 going through bike insurance company!
Marks and Spencers House Insurance £450 for buildings and contents with away from home cover etc etc etc and they dont have the stupid clauses in the small print about Gold Secure lock and covered when in the boot of your car like one of the companies has.
