UPDATE: CLASSIFIEDS section refreshed, redesigned, searchable: Go take a look
Just reading the installation instruction for the Shimano Hollowtech II BB and I notice they say you have to have the shell "Faced and chased" - is it that critical or just a general disclaimer?
Usually quite useful! What frame have you got? First hand, second hand? Carbon?
For the perfectionists yes, for everyone else maybe
chased - only if the threads are not clear
faced - only if the faces of the BB shell are not parallel/got blobs of paint on them/wider than specified 68mm/73mm etc
most I've ever bothered with is file off paint blobs
The frame is a Giant NRS Carbon fibre, second hand team bike, did have an ISIS BB.
It's probably already been faced, you should be fine.
