Ive decided to go 1x10 on my 05 Specialized Enduro, its stripped down and im putting a Hollow Tech II BB into it with older style XT crank arms, Blackspire 30t narrow wide etc.
Chain ring fitted without an issue and the BB is installed in the frame without any apparent issue but when i put the axle of the cranks through the bb there doesn't seem to be enough axle showing on the non drive side?
BB shell is 68mm according to Spesh's manual and the hollow tech install guide recommends drive side 2x2.5 mm spacers and 1x2.5mm spacers on non drive side.. Problem is with this install when i put the non drive side crank arm on i can get the little plastic bearing preload to even catch the thread of axle..
Is taking the spacers out going to mean I'll die a hideous and horrible death?

Have YOU actually measured it?
That'll teach me to blindly believe a bike manual.
Just measured it and its 72mm. ๐ฏ
