Dry and sunny? Yes. Above your head it will be.

The ground's still saturated though, with one of the organisers tweeting that he's never seen the "Field of Despair" as boggy as it is right now.

If you're riding you'll be getting caked in lots of lovely, lovely mud ๐Ÿ™‚

Don't forget your wellies with spd's though.

The field of dispair has never been so wet.

It's going to be fun

i can't decide between goretex lined merrell shoes (i'm riding on flat pedals) with warm socks, or sealskinz socks with skate shoes that won't hold water in them... either way, i'm not looking forward to that field!

I might take the Crossmark of the back then.

Still, makes it funnier going down The Chin. ๐Ÿ™‚

And the purveyors of brake pads laughing manically to themselves as they plan their retirement

I've just got some 'thick' sealskinz socks from work, dry and sunny in the sky but still cold! (and wet and muddy on the ground)

If it's as muddy as expected from experience my SPD pedals are going to become flats after a couple of laps.

Never mind the chuffing weather, I've dodged all bugs, colds etc for months and now I get bloody man-flu 2 days before HTN!
MTFU indeed....
..and that isn't getting a excuse in early. I was 227th last year!

See you all tomorrow

My mate has rebuilt his entire bike for HTN tomorrow, new cables, all new bearings.

Mine is still carrying about 3 pounds of mud on it from last weeks night ride.

I feel prepared 8)

Phew. I like your style scaled. Glad its no just me. I've made a mental note to at least put some oil on the chain when I get home tonight. Its been in there caked in mud for a week. The weathers been so bad though, that all the mud hasn't actually dried on

I think youre probably better prepared. No way would I make my bike immaculate for tmw. This is the sort of race you do before the big service...

Just back from laying the course.

The going is a little "sloppy" in The Field of Despair, The Chin and Preparation H. The rest of it is dry.

Thanks.
4 miles eh? As I consistently finished as the slowest person to manage 4 laps in the past, looks like I may struggle to do 4 this year!!

Just put some Bonty Mud Sharks on. Is 1.8 a bit skinny after being on 2.25's ??

Seriously will I be getting pinch flats every 2 yds, or will their awesomeness in the mud mean I end up coming from the back to win?

It's a bit of an all types course, some fast bits some slow, lots of slop, some grass... so tyres are a bit of a muchness, there's no substitute for fastness

it's a proper good laugh tho
