There's some quick lads in there. Will the "sabotage rock" take out Dave Haygarth and Dave Powell again?

No sign of Winkie though. Thought he would have been back to hug his tree again.

Is it really just two hours? Or do you see how many laps you can do over a set time? Or am I missing the point and it's a really hard two hours?

I'm told that it's quite hard.
But yes, it's as many laps as possible in 2 hours.

Are you signing up then?

You'll soon be quoting the Bible (1 Corinthians): Oh Death, where is thy sting?

An eminent cyclocross rider recently said “Hit the North isn’t cyclocross it’s trench warfare”

….the soft git.

What is so tough about this eh?

Sad I can't make it. Not sure I can justify a whole weekend away to ride my bike for two hours a second time.

Any word on a big un in the summer?

Any word on a big un in the summer?

a few words. Read all of it before going off on one...

The summer one probably won't happen again. The fact that the event was competing for entries with loads of other events (there are a lot in the summer nowadays) meant that the last one only just broke even, causing a lot of grief and anguish (you may recall the 'under threat' threads on here).
I'm also waaay too busy as a paying punter at races myself in the summer.

In contrast, the winter event normally sells out, perhaps because there's not much else going on at this time of year. There's more time in my life to get it organised and it's just a more enjoyable experience 😉
Nobody wants to organise an event if all it does is make your hair fall out.

So....the 'big' summer event will perhaps move to the winter slot. so a big winter one. Not sure how long the race will be, maybe there would be more than one race...it might even move a few weeks back so that we've got bluebells on the course.

Think 'Strathpuffer but closer to civilisation but not as long and with cyclocross bikes welcome' and you'll be getting there.

Did my first bike ride since November today does that count as training? Been carb loading on beer since November though so not totally unprepared, what can go wrong?

Looking forward to seeing how many times I get lapped is there a special prize catagory for this?

Dear CX riders....if I get out of your way on the fast bits and over the Somme, will you do the same for me on the muddy downhill bits - it's the only bit I ever feel like I'm doing something good on this 'course'
