we had just over 100 riders the first time we did the 'little' winter race.
blimey.
Blimey. We've come a long way since we had the original stupidly ambitious idea.
I suppose I'd better go and print a couple of hundred directional arrows.
how many?
Whats the deal with parking?
Sorry for being boring.
Also, do i need to book for the magic curry?
in fact....we had LESS than 100 back in the day.
take a trip down memory lane...

Parking? Yes...you'll need to park your car somewhere.
we've got the big car park at the bottom of the hill, there's the Rugby Club for a quid fifty, or you could just ride to the event..?
No idea about the curry. Rusty Spanner is sorting that IIRC. I shall be soaking in the bath before a night on the lash at The Church Inn.
parking, eh? i've heard it's gonna be co-ordinated by a fantastic bloke again this year...
Is the kiddies race still on?
kiddies' race, aye.
wot tyres?
Do you still need people for assistance with the junior race? I'll try and get there early
mud tyres if it's wet.
Ed - all offers of help gratefully received! Can you sign them in? There will be about 20 kids who need numbers, etc.
oooo get him!
I reckon at least one person on this thread has been training....there must be one...no?
Pfft! You can keep your fancy podiums. The pallets lent a certain rugged panache
Are the numbers going to issued on the day, or before, so that we know who the number belongs to so can shout abuse or congratulations to various peeps off the forum, as most of dont know what we each look like.
I will be in a grey range rover sport, if anyone needs a tug out of the mud.
I am in training. Unfortunately it's cake eating training. ๐
Oh balls. Forgot to send prizes. Will sort.
I've been in pasty-eating training Clover. It'll be interesting to see how our chosen regimes compare?
numbers assigned on the day, but quite likely that they'll be in the same order that they appear on the HTN site.
...erm...we might reserve some of the 'best' numbers though.
Oh balls. Forgot to send prizes. Will sort.
Guerrilla marketing at its best!

Why not have a STW meeting point at the stone table sculpture thing in the middle of the start/finish field, or all converge on the bloke with the tandem? You can all speed date with each other.
I am in training - I have been standing around in the rain a lot recently
anyone else coming down from Scotland like to share costs?
John Climber has also been training recently... by riding up the wrong hill.
It was birthday cake too. So I have also been training by getting older... ๐
Never mind numbers, we should have our training regimes and forum names pinned to our bikes for scientific study....
...and your blood type and emergency phone number written on your forehead with a marker pen.
Also, leave your cars unlocked so that we can move them should you not be around when the race finishes.
๐
Can we bring dogs? I need a secret weapon. ๐
Is it correct that ALL STW'ers have to be sporting a red carnation in their lapels and a white hanky hanging out of the bag of their baggies?
And anyone from Bikemagic are meeting up in body armour?
Training so far
26 miles road bike since Sunday
1 tesco trifle
๐
Anybody fancy a lap or 2 this weekend. I might pop down around 11. Pink inbred. Don't think you'll miss me
I'll be out there...somewhere...
try not to run me over
I'll be there too. With a staple gun.
Can we have a final course video so I can memorise the track with my eyes close like the guy does on Cool Runnings.
Harry_the_Spider - MemberI'll be there too. With a staple gun.
๐ฏ
Now I am scared - what are you going to do with it? shoot the stragglers?
A staple gun is the most valuable weapon in a race organiser's arsenal.
Long range weather looks OK in the run up to it.

low profile tyres? it might be us pulling you out of the mud ๐
Also, leave your cars unlocked so that we can move them should you not be around when the race finishes.
Yeah, right! You can take the boy out of Prestwich... ๐
I'm on the start list but I'm 50/50 if I can ride, due to a sprained knee. Will see how it is next week. ๐
