Where the hell are you going to find a perpetually sodden muddy fields with a taste for footwear and a ruddy steep hill at the end of it?

Well he said it was a locked venue - and it must be near Prestwich (but my guess is it isn't in Prestwich ) but I won't confirm my suspicions until HtS gives the all clear in case there are still i's to dot and t's to cross etc...

Down hopefully. Then back up through Clas Ohlsen. Plenty of distractions for the lurkers on the final lap. They can pretend to be looking at the zip ties.

Terrahawk will be crossing the i's and dropping the e's. There is tons of other stuff to get lined up as well.

What a great thread to see on STW!

Looking forward to it already and I will happily volunteer my services to assist in organising the event if you need anything HtS / Terrahawk?

I did buy him a pint afterwards - slightly shifty looking, bit odd, didn't believe a word he said.

I don't remember anyone buying me a pint. That I would remember.

I'd help out with marshalling too.

Suspicious number of people volunteering for marshalling instead of racing here, do they know something about the course that we don't? ๐Ÿ˜

yeah I spotted that, philips/drinkwater/outwood has been "HtN country" to me since 2008, will be interesting to ride HtN at a new venue, "locked" sounds intriguing.

How on earth did you find a picture of the Field of Despair where it doesn't look like the Somme?

I remember riding across that field through mud and being overtaken by someone gently pushing their bike [ not running nor trying hard] ...at this point I dismounted all crest fallen with my will sapped

I miss that hill.

Hora, promise I'll buy you a pint next time.

That was when it was frozen, just before the snow. Even when it was like concrete or was unrideble.

I've ridden twice (both in the summer - still mega mud) and been a marshal twice. Doing both was great fun.

Is it going to be one of them new Endurex things?

I don't even LIKE purple anymore - even an unopened tin of Quality Street sets me off these days.
