We will be e-mailing or posting details to all competitors, but as this invariably gets cocked up somewhere along the line the details are on our website too.

You have no excuses.

Still thinking about it. We're probably doing something on July 17th this year but it will be different from your usual bike race.

We've had an unexpected personnel change at HtN Towers which has left us a bit shell shocked.

I'll come and spectate

Turn up at 9:00 on the 20th and we'll give you an high-viz vest so that you can spectate at the bit where all the crashes are.

If I wore a hi-viz mankini I would cause crashes 8)

if you wear a mankini you can jump out of the woods in front of people and shout 'boo' if you want.
Actually, that would be v. funny. Do it.

aye, I'll be there. hopefully my bike will have just the one gear by then. looking forward to it - it's come round fast!!

to get there, do you come off the m60 at 17, then head north, left onto higher lane and then left onto Park lane and round the golf course?

Come along and say hello anyway. We'll give you a cup of tea and put you at one of the more entertaining marshal points.

Ask for point 2, 5, 6 or 7 for pain or 1, 4 or 11 for suffering.

at least one of our lot is riding

and subject to baby duties you may get the odd marshal

Good luck

Does this mean I have to wash the mud off my MTB from when I last rode it...at a cross race in October?

Is it too late to have a velodrome built over/around the course to keep me nice and warm?

If your marshalls are "odd" i'm not sure that we want them. 😯

Part of the track runs through Asylum Clough so there is a fair chance of getting eaten by mutant hill-billy cannibal inbred murders.

Make sure that your bike is in good working order.

Mine might need a little work in the next week or so...

I'm not working, injured or pregnant, so I will be "racing".

Would that be the black tape of a sponsored rider covering the logos on that bike Mike?

Brant will probably want you to uncover the logos as the bike looks like a bit of a shed. 😉

They're covered up properly. You know, with duct tape. It actually looks quite neat in real life. Relative to the rest of the frame, anyway.

The only black tape is making the Inbred on the seat tube anonymous:

Mike, your blindfolded Inbred has made me rock with silent laughter. A lesser man would have let out a little bit of wee.

Are you booked in at the pub yet? Trying to sort out the after race party now.

All being well the Darwen film crew will be in attendance to record the event for YouTube consumption and to offer encouragement/advice/abuse as appropriate.

Cool.

Will you be wanting a reserved parking spot for the fleet of Winnebagos, the director’s chair and a gazebo for your fluffer again?

I got some more HTN practice this morning, by sliding 20-odd feet on my arse. Bloody black ice!
