Anybody use a bum bag for short rides, must be able to carry a bottle, any recommendations?

They're fine so long as you don't put anything too heavy in them, when they ride down and pull into your stomach.

don't use on for biking but do for running. Biking I have a minimal camelback with enough room for a bladder, a tool pump and spare tube.

Lowe Alpine do a no fuss no frils one, cannot go wrong with a pete bland bum bag either. Only issue is no actual bottle holder. More for running but enough room for a bottle if you want to.

I sometimes use an Inov8 elite bumbag as that has a bottle holder as opposed to a hydration bladder (pro range). They are nice and stable and easy enough to get bottle in and out. Also black and silver, none of their usual neon nonsense.

They can ride down and slip but the better ones from proper firms like Berghaus aren't bad, they have decent wide padded belts - I sometimes use a 9 litre one with no problems. It also has bottle holders each side. Must admit I use the camelback more though, even on shortish rides.

I have a North Face lumbar pack that I used for a while for short rides.
I had no problems with comfort but I stopped using it in favour of bottle cages in the bike and stuffing tools & snacks in my jersey pockets.

Toons - which wingnut pack do you have? Tested the 2.5 this weekend but want one for all-day rides so am thinking enduro or adventure.

I have a Lowe Alpine one of some 15 years vintage - its great for a pump/tools/bottle ride locally in the summer.
