got a one from a fall the other week, any STW experiences, just done a quick web diagnosis and lots of people have them drained. Seems a bit OTT, my gut feel is to leave it. Thanks
When I got (a very uncomfortable) one from being knocked off on the road, after getting escalated from walk in centre -> A&E doctor -> consultant the conclusion was that they _could_ drain it but unless it was infected they'd rather not as it would risk infection and better to let the body sort it out.
As above......they drained mine on my thigh..best left alone if At all times possible
Cheers, I think I'm on the right side of recovery.
Had one on my thigh for almost a year - tea plate size. It hasn't gone down at all and feels distinctly cold to the touch.
I've had a haematoma in my right thigh from a crash (broke collar bone, third time) about 10 yrs ago.
The docs left it alone because it's inside the muscle. They only really operate/drain if it's up against the bone; because the bone thinks the blood is marrow and tries to grow around it. This creates razor like edges/spurs on the bone and can be *quite* worrisome....
Got one 4 weeks ago on my R thigh from a heavy fall on rocks and it's gone down 50% already. I'd leave and let it degrade naturally.
Thanks all, feels like it's gone down a bit already.
I had one so bad my waist line increased by four inches. Five years later you can still see a slight swelling where the pocket inside the muscle tissue has never healed.
