[#1782246]

Played football last week for the first time in 5 years at full pace with no warm up. A week later my hip adductor is still very sore/painful ๐Ÿ™
Apart from ****ing which i know will come up as its a groin injury, any way to help this recover a touch quicker?

its the muscles labeled psoas major and adductor brevis/longus

Find a good remedial/sports massage therapist. They wil sort you out, as it is a muscular issue ๐Ÿ™‚

Go and get a proper diagnosis because that one is wrong. My guess is pectineus, sports hernia or gilmour's groin.

Allegedly - Only an idiot would come onto a cycling forum asking about a football injury.

Experience and knowledge. It is very doubtful that you have damaged three separate muscles which have distinct and separate actions. Besides Psoas Major is a hip flexor .

twist and turn causes discomfort, lay down - leg is hard to move across my body. pain starts about 50mm above belt to 50mm below. like a tightness down the front of my thigh. Pain exacerbated by passing motion in footy

Sounds awfy like sports hernia/gilmores groin to me. The bad news is that it may need a lot of work to fix it. Go seek professional help and preferably do it soon even if just to prove me wrong.

Could also equally be a simple groin strain which wouldnt be quite as bad.

Will riding aggravate it?

For the love of god rest it and do what jimmy says i had an injury like this and it took me over a year to sort it out. even now i have to pay attention to it with stretching and stuff.I was told that you need surgery to fix it but thankfully i had one physio that told me to keep the faith.
