So I've had my Hilo or a few weeks.
I thought it might be just 'sticktion' but it doesn't seems to be getting better.
It was dead squeaky out of the box. continues to squeak on the seals when it slides and doesn't return to full height without help (pressure maxed and checked).
Anyone had similar issues?
Too much on the seat clamp? Mine was fine.
mine squeaks too unless I keep it lubed. it does work properly though. that said, as I have mine in 27.2 it's very sensitive to how you clamp it. I actually use a coke can shim in mine to ensure I can stop it slipping without having to over tighten the seat post clamp even though I don't need a shim with a normal post.
if I do over tighten, then it doesn't slide smoothly and doesn't fully extend on it's own.
Fibergrip and less clamping force will sort it.
Also try having the "open" part of the clamp on the side of the seattube without the slot.
I'm using carbon assembly compound and the 'return to high' is the same whether the seat post clamp is tight or undone.
