[#10179551]

Struggling to decide between a mid spec Hightower LT build or a top spec Jeffsy for a few hundred less. My typical riding is Peaks, Lake District, trail centres & enduros.

i am 6ft 3" so both would be XL size & from what I can see they are similar reach etc

Looking for your opinions on these bikes

I had exactly the same dilemma! Opted for the Hightower LT. For quite a few reasons-even though the Jeffsy gets great reviews I never actually rode one! Having ridden the ‘old’ Hightower I knew what to expect in terms of reach/sizing etc. The warranty on SC covers lifetime of frame AND bearings-a no brainier for a full bounce. I only bit the bullet when I saw the green/yellow C S going for just over 3.5k. Bargain! Thanks Biketart!

Anyway, think the LT is amazing. Climbs well, and really comes alive on the descents. I know it’s a bit cliche but it really wants to be pushed-it’s only me holding it back! If I’ve one criticism I don’t rate the SRAM guide R’s. So far no issues with the GX Eagle groupset either.

Cant recommend the Hightower LT enough!  Ride similar areas to you back in the UK and never feels too much bike.  Similarly just back from 3 weeks over in the Alps and felt sooo good!  I was a bit wary about the seat tube angle and all the comments on line - not a problem, so ignore anyone telling you otherwise.  Honestly love it so much, best bike i've had by far.  I find it actually quite playful when you work it hard.  I sized up so i'm 5,11/6 and went for an XL and find it perfect for me.
