[#2597108]

Noticed one of these next to my bike in the shed today.

Just a simple every day commuter/shop bike but I looked again and saw it had XT, Hayes Strokers and a reasonably looking fully damped fork. And a basket and dynamo lights. Nice to see someone taking everyday transport bikes seriously!

Mines of a similar spec, 105 compact transmission, M575 hydraulics, carbon fork, decent wheels with Conti ultra dura-skins, rack & SKS full guards.

Cheaper too ๐Ÿ˜‰

My 'town bike' is;

Inbred frame
White bros carbon fork
XTR mech, shifters and cransket
Magura Marta brakes
Hope XC hubs and Mavic 717 rims
Thomson Stem and seatpost, Ritchey bar

mainly 'cos I already had them 'in stock' and it seemed a shame not to use them.

This is off the peg tho. Is there a higher spec 'tootler' on the market?

My RoadRat has Dura-Ace mechs, FSA carbon cranks, carbon bars, stem and post, Hope Mini Monos...

I figure that if you're going to use it as an everyday workhorse, it makes sense to use good stuff...

Not a tootler tho. Has to be sit-uppy and have stuiff like a basket or dynamo lights.

That Trek district is let down massively by that gopping aero seatpost/steatclamp. And the weird angle on the bars/levers.

Oh, and the fact it's all black - naff as on a road bike.
