Mate bought a Sherpa frame off here a week ago, will be running 120mm Rebas and asked me which front tyre he should run from the aforementioned. As I run Hutchinson tyres I can't offer him any advice so seeking the forums. Riding divided between trail centre and natural trails.

HR2 is a very hit and miss tyre, in some situations it excels, in others it's crap. I found the "will it won't it" transition from the central knobs to the outer knobs even more pronounced than on the original HR. By contrast the DHF is just bloody brilliant pretty much everywhere, except for mud where it's merely better than most. The new DHR2 is a brilliant rear companion to it too when the grip is required, then there's also the new Minion SS for dry summer days...
