There have been one or two on here lately heading for the Island. I intend to go in a few weeks but leaving the car at Heysham and taking bike only on the ferry.
Parking at the terminal is not secure (in as much as it is an open area sa far as I can gather) and can't be booked in advance. It's a long way to go not to be able to park in time for the ferry. Does anyone know what Heysham is like as far as leaving a car on the streets for a week is concerned?

I've never had a problem with parking space at the terminal - it ain't cheap though
If it was my money [which it never is] I'd leave it on a street somewhere
