Didn't know wether to put this on classified or what, anyway, a bit ago I mentioned that me & 2 (now 4) lads from work were doing a tour of Ben Nevis in September. Now, Ritchie (the complete twerp of the group) asked me to look at his bike to see if it was, err...suitable, & to cut a long story I told him to take it back to the waste disposal site he'd obviously got it from. SO! has anyone got a bike that'll fit a bloke (6' 2") with an inside leg of about 34" that'll actually make the trip? Bearing in mind he's VERY inexperienced in MTBing, but pretty fit, who doesn't want to spend much (mainly cos he hasn't got much). He's (we) are in the Wetherby area. Anyone got owt??
Can't you hire from one of the places at Aonach Mor ski centre or from the bike shop in Fort William itself? What are you actually riding at Nevis?
If you want to punish him a little I have a 20inch SS GT?
We're doing a tour of Ben Nevis (ish) Starting from Ft Willy, along the Mamore Rd to Mamore Lodge then over to Loch Eilde, camp/bothy at that one next to Luibeilt that I can never remember the name of, over Lairig Leachach towards Spean Bridge & back through Leanachan Forest. He needs a bike before we go otherwise he'll never get fit enough!
One of my colleagues is selling his 2008 Revolution Triad 2 soon ( to fund a 2009 model). The bike is in pretty much mint condition, very well maintained and not abused.
RS Recon fork, Juicy Brakes, Great quality frame etc, do a search on google.
I can put you in touch if your interested - don't quote me on this but I think He'll be wanting around £300 for it.
Forgot to add - usefully we are based just a few miles closer to Leeds from you so you easily try it.
I 'THINK' its an 18 (come up quite big) and he's about 6ft, not sure if thats any good.
