Hi Everyone,
Happy new year to you all.
I have been looking at this forum for a year and a few of you seem to know Zermatt so i need some help please. My wife to be and i are spending our honeymoon in Zermatt during the first two weeks in May. I know the higher altitude singletrack will still be snow-covered but i really need advice on routes in and around the village, and down towards Visp/Brig also.
This is are first trip to the Alps with our bikes so have no idea on what to expect. Afan,Brechfa,Cwmcarn,Mendips,Quantocks and South Bristol is are usual thing. Our bikes are itching for some 'real' mountain biking!
Anyone got any contacts there? One email to OTP has gone unanswered so far.
I keep seeing amazing pictures of Zermatt's singletrack and with only 4 months to the big day we're desperate to get an idea of what to look forward too!
Thank you,
Nick.
We were in the Zermatt valley in October, details of the trip with links to webcams etc

Basically we bought the 'peak pass' ticket which allows you unlimited travel on all trains & lifts in Zermatt.
If you like XC stuff the ride from the top of Sunnegga down to Tasch & back up the other side of the valley was good.
only been when its snowy, but the piste map has a summer side showing the bike trails etc and you can get a train pretty high up, so I think that they are pretty geared up for bikes.
Nice place, bit poncey in the winter tho!
