Hi,
I've got a cyclo-cross bike and want to get rid of the spacers below my stem to lower the bars. However if I do that then the cable for the front brake would not have any room to enter the cable hanger for the front brake. The cable hanger is the type which goes round the steerer tube and then drops below the headset. It has a drop of about 30mm.
Are there any other types of cable hanger that I can use that would enable me to drop the stem right to the top of the headset without the use of those extra spacers ?
Cheers,
Trev.
if your fork has a central hole on the crown (where you would bolt on a mudguard) you can get a hanger to go on there. Like this :

Was thinking I could maybe hang one of these through my stem plate bolts http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Surly_Long_Rear_Cable_Hanger/5360042495/

sounds like a world of hurt to me!
I think Fisher do one under the KF brand. Some people refer to them as Kona type.
i run my cable over the top of the bars and run the cable hanger slighty off center, much better cable route but ugly.
if not do what some pros do and drill through the stem...then replace stem after every race 😉
