Moving depot to around 6 miles away so a commuter on C2W is on.
Commute will be road and towpaths and bike hopefully could be used for XC riding locally.
At the moment Cannondale Bad Boy is my favourite, but are there any 29er xx mtbs that would be a better choice?

Cyclo x bike or gravel bike depending on how hipster you need to be.

Pinnacle Arkose or Genesis Croix de Fer fit the bill. They are surprisingly capable off-road but I wouldn't want to head round a trail centre on them.
Does depend on what your existing bike(s) is/are.
