Hello been looking at so many bike a the moment i just got to the point that i just dont know which one..
Im 6 ft 2 and only really use the bike for single tracks at places like bedgebury.
but off to wales in the spring so need something to handle that and maybe france next year.
got a budget of 2k i have looked at the ex8 which is just over my budget but im sure i could stretch if need be.
thing is every shop i go to, the sale people always say thier bike are better. been to trek,scott,and cube, looking at specialized today maybe.
so really what do you think would be best for me with my budget etc etc
120mm will be fine at home,it will be fine in 'wales'.It might not be ideal in france (I assume you mean 'Alps' stylee) but you don't buy a bike based on one weeks usage you 'might' do.
Honestly there are no 'bad' bikes out their from the well known manufacturers anymore (unless its a marin 😉 ) and specs are all pretty similar (apart from canyon 😉 ).
The trick is to find the one YOU like riding best.And you can only do that by riding them,so get some test rides.
Secondary considerations will be manufacturer back up and the service you get from the retailer.
But at the end of the day you will probably just buy the one that is the prettiest colour....

i do seem to be drawn by the colour quite alot.
Hi Burders, I've got a Trek Fuel EX8, a Scott Octane and my mate rides a Specialized...
Out of all these bikes the Trek is what I love, the suspension is the best I've ridden - don't believe the little lie about unaffected rear braking and suspension though! The Trek will probably see you through most things, it does me.
The Scott is well built but I've had problems with the swing arm needing re-welded.
The Specialized Rockhopper is well built too, very light and a tight ride, no room for error, I'd say.
In the end I recommend the Trek all the way, I favour it out of my quiver and all past bikes.
