[#4354883]

Just taken delivery of a Grand Canyon 7.9 and whilst i'm really pleased with it, i'm toying with the idea of upgrading the wheels. The bike is remarkably light as it is but i'm fancying some lighter wheels and am so after some suggestions.

Ideally i'm looking for something in the 1750g region (is this attainable without spending daft money?) for general xc, trail riding etc. I'm no racing whippet and weigh about 12.5 stone kitted up.

Anyone got any realistic suggestions or experiences to share?

Was concerned about durability of the Crest's tbh. I've a 26" pair which are fine for general trail riding etc but don't the Crest's have a recommended weight limit in 29 guise?

They do have a weight limit but its nearer 14 stone than 12.5 i think, I'd save up and get some Crossmax SLR's from germania...
In fact I am.......

It's got Mavic Crosstrails on - they come in about 2200g. I reckon I can ditch a pound and a half by going for lighter wheels and running them tubeless.

I've just ordered Pro II Evos - Stans Arch EX in a QR15 F / QR9 R guise from Moonglu. Just gotta wait a couple of weeks for the rims to arrive in the UK.

If I was opting for QR9 both front and rear I'd have bought the Easton Haven wheelset CRC have on offer for £360. Looks mint.
