Hi all, I'm struggling to work out which adaptor i need for my brakes. It is to mount an IS caliper to a rear IS mount and run a 160mm disk.
Any help wold be gratefully received!
Shouldn't need an adaptor if it is IS calliper
Yeah, what he said. Unless your caliper is designed for a bigger rotor.
Pics would help.
Ahh, my mistake, i thought it was 140mm rear brakes that didn't need mounts.
Hmmm I think you do need an adaptor. Rear IS calipers are usually for a 140mm disc and no adaptor. To go 160mm at the back you usually need a + 20m adaptor.
Depends on what brake you've got, IS used to use bespoke calipers for different size discs, ie Hope mono no.3 for 160mm rear/180mm front.
The brake is a standard Deore IS mount brake if that makes any difference?
No adaptor needed for that.
