Going to perform a lower service on my 2016 Pike, so looking to purchase a 120ml bottle of 0-30 oil (I only need 20ml) but it would appear to be impossible to source.

Well that's not true, can easily source 1 litre at £25, but that's 50 oil changes worth, so a little over kill 🙂

TFTuned have it but it's nearly a tenner for 120ml!!!

Bloody hell!

**EDIT No they don't, my mistake.**

Just use some car engine oil of a similar weight. It's only there to provide a bit of lube, it doesn't do any damping work so it's not too critical. I've used some 5-40w in the bottom of my Pikes with no issues...

£20 for 1L.... but still a touch more than you need 🙂 As above just use some fully sythetic engine oil. Weight is fairly unimportant.

I always get fork oil from motorcycle shops. Much cheaper, you get the choice of weights and you know it won't cause the seals any problems.

I was in the same boat as you. In the end I got 1L of motocross racing fork oil as it was only a few pounds more than a 120ml of the Rockshock stuff. I just went for 2.5wt - will make naff all difference compared to 0w as you need so little of it anyway.

What you put in the damper is different than what you put in the lowers, but TBH at only £13 for a L of the actual 3W oil you'd probably not skimp surely? £7/8/900 worth of fork but you'd not pay £13 for the right damper oil 😉

Drop me a message to my email in profile, I'm sure I've got a couple of 120ml bottles at home left over from a job lot I sold a while ago.
