spent a few hours cleaning all the parts off my old bike and putting them onto my on one 456, go to put the rear wheel in, the last job and it doesn't fit into the slots, the wheel is a hope hub. is this a problem with hope wheels and on one's or do i just need a big hammer???
learning stick will do it, could be just paint.
Quite often on new frames there is too much paint on the dropouts and your wheel won't fit. A round file or sand paper wrapped around a stick will do the trick. As the on one is steel, try not to go through the base coat or she'll rust a bit.
elaborate on "doesn't fit in the slots"
Is the wheel/hub too wide? If so, by how much?
Is it just a case of too much paint on the dropouts? They should be perfectly compatible so maybe just file the dropouts a bit?
Mine was similar.. went in ok on one side but not the other (Maybe that's why they are On Ones) ... I just chisled some paint of the inside surface and it dropped in fine.
I have reciently built a 456 and had the same issue with my hope hubs
yes there was too much paint
thanks for the advice
reggiegasket the wheel isnt too wide it just does not fit in, i'll get the files out.
yep same thing here had the bb and head tube faced but had to file lump of paint off to fit my hope hubs
handyman. was that getting them faced from new.
just intrested as i,m going to get one.
cheers
Yes, on one did a deal back when i bought mine for a few extra quid they faced them all and the disc mounts, so no sqealing and the chris king headsets need to have pefectly aligned faces to worlk for years with no trouble
