Help- Retention pin...

Ive rounded the allen key end and the new pads (Superstar) dont come with a retention pin.

Looks like this- skewers the holes to hold the pads and spider in place:

stick a split pin that comes with shimano pads?

I haven't got one- looked through all the old spares n bobs etc. wondering- would a thin ziptie achieve the same?

Any Shimano service centre will be able to order the new part for you. Looking at the diagram you either need part no Y-8CY 04000 (the pad axle) or part no Y-8CY 98020 which is the axle and snap ring.

LBS got them for me, Madison gave me the part number.

Halford sell packs of split pins for a couple of quid.

I just use split pins in mine as the bolt head is made of cheese I found.

Madison part number is 8CY 9802 and RRP is £2.49

I wouldn't fancy using a zip tie but as others have said a split pin is fine.
