I have a 2006 Merlin malt 2 that I admittedly didn't use a great deal until this year. I have however got the mountain biking bug back over the past few months and although I don't do as many miles as I'd like I am managing to do 50-80 miles most weeks.
As the bike is a few years old would I be better spending a few quid on it or replacing it. It is in very good condition due to its relatively low mileage but how much have things moved on in the 4-5 years since I bought it. I don't want to spend a fortune - £500 max on a replacement and don't mind second hand.
I mainly do trails and towpaths. Nothing to challenging at the moment.
Thanks
is their anything broken/worn out or do you just want new?
I would keep the frame and look at upgrading the forks, getting a lighter wheelset better components etc
Nothings broken or worn out, just wondered if I can get anything lighter/better.
things haven't moved on that much, if at all to be honest.
replace stuff if broken would be most peoples advice i would think
