Looking at some skinnies for my mtb for commuting/road work and has anyone found any better tyres than either Continental Gatorskin/Grand Prix or Specialized All condition?? Don't want to spend megabucks, sort of below £50 for a pair.

Ideas please

Thanks

These are great but pretty bloody heavy.

I use GEAX Easy Riders on my commute bike, and even run them on the trails in the summer.. not the lightest, but great grip all year round on road or DRY trails, and they wear really well too.

Buy em from Decathalon there dirt cheap.

conti contacts of some variety - I have sport contact on my commuter, mrs TJ has travel contact - no punctures and lighter than the swalbe by a lot

lowest price slicks on CRC. I don't get many punctures on the road. On 23c tyres they are caused by potholes and stones but this isn't a problem if they are 1.5" or bigger IME. Currently maxxis something or others, before that continental something or others both are fine.

+1 for marathon plus, bombproof and still roll fairly well, i've used them since september without a single puncture

I've ridden over nails and bits of glass that have punctured my mates gatorskins, so i can confirm their toughness.

I got them for £40 for the pair at on one, might be worth a look to see if they still have any offers.

I have a pair of Specialized Hemispheres. Condition a good 8.5 out of 10.
Great tyres, roll really well.

£17.50 posted for the pair if you want to try them.

Oh that was shameless! 🙂
