Another which bike thread - sorry!
He has narrowed it down to:
Specialized Stumpy FSR comp - 2008 £1100 New
or
Pitch Pro 09 Used - 2009 £1000
or
FSR XC Expert 2009 - New - £1100 with £200 worth or store credit for stuff.
For general trail use - Kirroughtree, GT, Whinlatter, Dalby - Reds and Blacks.

I would go for the Stumpy for that type of riding. The pitch is too much bike and the XC is probably a bit racy.

that was my call - he isnt the best of climber and since more time is spent climbing than descending i suggested the stumpy.
