[#2778077]

ok, I'm building a new HT and have for a long time thought of ditching the small chainring, as I very very rarely use it. When I bought the frame, I bought an XT 10speed front derailleur, and am buying XT 10speed shifters and rear derailleur. Are Shimano 10speed front chainsets not available yet? If so, who else offers them and are compatible with Shimnao? I dont want to spend mega bucks, XT price/functionality/weight is great for me - I also want 170mm crank arms as I've got short legs.

Any help much appreciated. TIA

Like, 5 seconds on google?

Then just take the small ring off and sell it.

Shimano 2X10 is available but is expensive.

Why not have a look forchainwheels (these are 2X9) and fit them to the existing set up.
These from Rotor aren't too expensive, yes I know they're not round...

Just change the chainrings, like this.

Is that 2X9 or 2X10 RM? I guess the chainrings will be too wide on a 2X9 for a 10 speed chain, and 2X10 chainrings appear to be limited in their supply.

I suppose I could remove the large chainring and change up sizes on the other 2, just didnt want to have the missing chainring look, but it doesnt look too bad in pic above. What sizes have you changed to?
plus are they 10 speed as Don says, not so easy to find...

H'mm, I've checked the weights and prices and it doesnt seem worth me spending £70 more to lose 1 chainring! I can get XT triple 10speed for £130 or so at http://www.actionsports.de or http://www.rosebikes.co.uk
Good old shimano, cant go wrong with their stuff.

Thanks for the help
