Lady friend asked me to look at her bike as the freehub was broken. On opening it up it was gunged up, but surprisingly also missing one of the 3 pawls. No idea where it’s gone , potentially it’s fallen out when someone has tried to service it previously
hub is a chosen 150t which appears to be a Chinese firm Akin to novatec. Rsp appear to make new freehub a for chosen hubs but for a 150p model so no idea if that will fit. The ideal solution is to just replace the pawl, however I’ve tried a few from old wheel sets I’ve had hanging around and none fit
failing that it’s a wheel build on a new hub, which I’m keen to avoid given I can’t build wheels!
Any picture of the pawl you need - I have some spare pawls from a Chosen hub that came on a Rise and died so you are welcome if, on the off chance, they are same.
cheers fella
does this work?

Sorry, the pawls are not the same - those look quite complex. Ah well, was worth a shot.
Hard to tell! One of those looks similar shape but unless it’s spot on it’ll probably not fit. Maybe worth a punt though👍

Bugger, I see your aware of that model, but it looks the closest option
That looks very like a chosen freehub

what do you mean? Ta
If you put it back together it'll probably work perfectly well with just two pawls. I helped a mate service a set of Hopes and that was down to only one and still worked.
I thought about that but I’d need to permanently remove one of the springs. Also, I’m not convinced of the robustness of removing 33% of the pawls!
It's not ideal but how much power is she likely to put through it? If it'll take 2000W with 3 pawls is it really a problem?
