Mine arrived today, any tips on how to get the best out of it. Will be using it on Sunday and dont want to mess up

Only got the chest mount and a sticky curved thing, do I need any thing else

Sticky curved thing goes on your helmet? IMO you won't need go further than 720p for HD, most uploading sites will limit your output anyway unless you are premium Vimeo user.
If used as a chesty, just swap solid gate to skeleton gate for extra sound if needed. Surely you not going to dive with it to justify solid gate?

The chest mount needs to be pointing a lot more upwards than you'd think - otherwise you'll get too much top tube/bars/stem in your vid. It's a good idea to test out a few positions and go for a spin up the road and check out the results.

It depends on your riding position really. There is an adaptor included in case OP has got racing position instead of normal sit and beg. But I agree, needs to get out and test ride it.
