Ok, new ish to disc brakes, as only just swapped from V's. the brakes are Auriga pro

I have a few problems;
the lever pulls almost to the bars.
the lever also 'pumps' and becomes tighter as i squeeze it.
the braking power is extremely lacking

thoughts , pads knackered, air in the system, leak in the system

anyone any thoughts ?

cheers

I'm no brake expert, but that sounds like air in the system.

Bleeding is the answer, but a quick fix is to ziptie the lever to the bars overnight (like holding the brake on all night), which will help temporarily.

Bleeding is not difficult, but worth getting LBS/a mate to do it for you if you're not confident. Any decent LBS will show you how, once plied with a decent coffee...

Sounds like you have some air in the system. Did you shorten the cables?

could be that the pads need setting; check out the last couple on mins of this video

7 mins in should help to clarify if its air in the system
