Having a nightmare, came on here for advice on chainring compatibilty a couple of days back, bought a middle ring and it's still about 2mm too small for the spider.

Is it because of a 2x10 spider with a 9 speed chainring?
Nope it's because it's a shimano ring on a SRAM/truvativ chain set. The BCD is the same but the fitting dimensions are wrong.
Ah. GUTTED!
I cant see the photos but can it not be MADE to fit, i have had to file the tabs slightly on TA rings to fit older style chainsets before....
You can file the inside of the chainring tabs to make it fit. It's a pain in the arse but if you have a Dremel it's pretty straight forward. Not ideal and don't go mad but it will be fine.
Okay, anyone interested in a swap? XT 9 speed chainring for a truvatuv/sram one?
32T?
You've been a bit overzealous pruning that evergreen.

+3
I've had to do the same many times, to make them fit Shimano chainsets.
Never been pruned, wind burn mate, draft through my back gate blows right at it.
Well, no one likes a draft through their back door.
