Random one. I've been using a POC Trabec (XL) since 2012 and I think it's about time I replaced it - probably should have done that many years ago!! Given there are some pretty good Black Friday deals around, can anyone recommend a decent helmet for a rounder headed rider!! The Trabec has been brilliant, hence my reluctance to give it up and I'd love to stick with POC, but I hear the Tectal and Kortal are better suited to oval headed folk. Or does the shape not matter so much if the fittings are decent, tech has probably evolved since my Trabec was designed! Let me know thoughts, happy to spend £100+ for a decent helmet.

I've got a round head too! Recently replaced my very old Giro Hex with a Smith Forefront 2, mainly because it had a nice mounting plate for a helmet light. I'm not a helmet connoisseur but it's pretty nice, and seems to fit OK. A little movement with a Diablo mounted but no more than I'm used to from my last helmet.

PlanetX / OnOne helmets fit round heads.

Sadly our family have expensive long and narrow Specialized heads.

Shape definitely matters

Not Smith helmets, at least the Engage - long and narrow.

Thanks, the Smith Forefront looks interesting but not sure about the ventilation. How about the Troy Lee A2 or A3 for a round head?!!

Kask Rex fitted my round head very well for ages. Now on an Oakley DRT5 which is good but not as comfy as the Rex was.

Bell seems to fit my bawheided son. Endura and Fox were too narrow.
