Have a Tesco 2 x AA one last winter but was looking an improved helemt mount one. Run a P7 on the bars looking for a torch that throws the beam a bit further. Any suggestions? Either 18650 or AA batteries.

for an LED LENSER Police Tech Focus torch. There's one of the tesco torches you mention in there for comparison. When I mounted it in the workstand I was using to hold the torches, it was pointed down slightly more than the LED lenser, but even so, you can see that the Lenser wipes the floor with it.
Amazon are currently doing it for £28 - takes 3 AAA batteries.
i bought an led torch -- tenner from tesco , put a bit if old inner tube round it and zip-tied it onto me helmet, works a treat.
