It looks like I've stripped the thread on my Revelation lowers,the lower caliper bolt won't tighten properly.Any magic tips,or know of someone who does Helicoils locally ?

Mate of mine did a very similar thing and took it to a motorbike shop, he's Barnsley based so I'll have an ask.

I'm here. As Podge says, did the same to my Fox forks. Took them to these: -

R T T Motor Cycle Services Spares & Repairs
2 Hoyland Road

Left them with them for a few hours on a saturday and they fitted a whole inset rather than a helicoil. Forks have been sound since. Think it was a tenner all in. Proper old school shop but service is great.

A helicoil is just a brand of insert. tbh it's only mtbers that I've ever heard talk about helicoils, to everyone else it's jsut inserts

go to MC Mills near the post office proper old school ironmongers they will have any thing you want

Seconded RTT - had bikes to them in the past and they were spot on.
Also seconded MC Mills for a home repair - that is a proper shop.
