ok maybe a more serious answer, cut it to shape with sharp knife or scissors before you start, clean the area of the frame to be covered, dry it off and degrease it then use an alcohol based cleaner. very carefully remove the backing paper and without touching the sticky side if possible and then slap it on as carefully and accurately as possible rolling it from one end to another to avoid bubbles. having it warmed will help it push in to place easier if going around any unusual shapes.

me being a hamfisted git will more than likely make a mess of this 🙂

+1 for warming either the tape or the frame before application. I found that (particularly if it was an unusual shape) it peeled off much more easily if I didn't warm it before hand.
