Well seems I'm a victim too.
Woke this morning to find shed slightly ajar, went to have a look expecting the worse and Yep, it had gone. Absolutley F'in gutted.
Went out last night for a quick blast, got back, gave it a quick wash and locked away in the usual manner, locked through the rear wheel, the frame and shed wall. Thev'e took the bike complete with lock still attached so would have to have carried it to a waiting van or something OR the scrotes live close enough to carry it home.

very sorry to hear that your bike was stolen!!!i hope you find it,and bring the scum to justice!!!i always bring my bike to my bedroom,(do not have a lady in my life sob!!!)so can keep an eye on it that way!!!
f***ers!! all that locking effort and they still get it. Mine stays in the house! hope the thieves die. silver ano quite rare so you never know.
I'd like to keep it in the house but the Mrs says "NO". ๐
Just spoke with Darren at the appointed bike replacement shop, something wheels. Gave him a nice long list of whats on the bike and I just have to sit and wait now for an offer of some sort.
Anyone any tips for dealing with these shops that work for insurers sorting replacements etc...
Carl
I hate the scallies who rob bikes... the worst thing is that when they are caught, nothing happens to the little gits!
I would speak to all your local bike shops in the area and ask them to write a description and pin it on the staff notice board in the shop... they are normally happy to help with stolen bikes!
The law should be changed so that if you steal a bike, you get beaten with a stick or smthing...
Dano- Good plan with the bike shop suggestion
Cheers
Carl
Sorry to hear it, good luck with insurance/potential recovery.
Crap news sorry t hear it

From Experience with M&S and their bike specialist company you don't have to accept a replacement from their supplier, I received a BACS payment for my claim so was able to source all my own kit again and could build it to whatever spec I wanted to.
Good Luck
gutted to hear this from you this morning Carl- we'll keep an ear out.
now get onto M&S for that cheque, we'll sort you the very best we can. (if you wanted, of course!)
Si
sorry to hear that. What year / shape is the heckler?
current model
When two of mine and the Mrs's bikes got pinched from my shed i got given a rough replacement from the insurance co- sounds the same as yours, think its called Wheelies. They don't do all brands so you may have to make do- I was given a Kona Cinder Cone which I sold...
Good luck...
Feel for you mate, had 2 bikes, frame and forks go from my garage since easter. Pissed off though, got the cheque from the insurance company today, only got 500! parts were worth over 2k! ๐ฅ
Thanks for all the support people.
Sheldona- Did they put up much resistance to you wanting the cash?? as I don't fancy having to "make do" as andymc puts it, I bought the Heckler because thats what I wanted, and fully intend to get another. Whats the point of being insured like for like, if you end up out of pocket or having to settle for what your told you can have by someone?
Si- If I end up with the cash I'll be along to see you guys without a doubt. ๐
Carl
Themolland-Ouch!!!!!!!! I bet thats left a bitter taste
Yer, did a little bit, going to phone them in the morning and ask WTF?
I had pretty good service from Wheelies, but it was a stock Specialized they were replacing and that probably made things a lot easier.
I know that this probably won't be any help now, but it's probably worth getting a professional estimate for a custom build - I believe a lot of insurance companies will accept these as a true value of the bike.
As sheldona said M & S will try and get you to use a preffered supplier but if you insist, with good reason (i.e. specialised equipment) then they will BACS the full value to you.
Carl - we're closed today, but I've had an email from Santa Cruz UK- i think we have your frame no, so shout me an email and I'd fire one back (I've not got all our contacts at home!)
Ta,
Si
yeah, ith wheelies, if you tell your insurance company that wheelies don't stock your frame they should just do a cash settlemtn. thats what happened with my stiffee as wheelies don't do cove
Seems there is a lot of thieving scum around at the moment reading through the posts on here. F'in bstds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wanted to jog peoples memory around the stockport area about my Silver Ano Heckler that was taken last Monday 27/07/2009.
There can't be that many around south Stockport so please keep your eye's peeled, everyone I see on a bike is a susspect at the moment.
e-mail in profile if seen.
Ta.
On a lighter brighter note it seems wheelies have gotten thier act together and have now made me an offer of an Intense Tracer vp frame with all the components to match what I had on the Heckler. Looks and sounds real nice but I'm going to see what sort of cash offer they come up with before I make a desision (sp) because at the end of the day it's not a true like for like replacement and I would definatley have another Heckler given the choice.
Carl
Get photos on carlos and then any of us peeps up this way can keep an eye out!
I have a heckler - but if I was in your shoes and was offered the intense I would take it - they are pretty pricey non?
Carlos, or anyone in a similar position, if you cntact me (mail in profile) I can show you what I sent to my insurance after my recent theft, Direct Line were brilliant, if anyone is looking for home insurance cover at the moment.
And if you out there without a note of your bikes frame number go out to the shed and write it down tonight.
Telemaster18 - Can't post up pics as don't know how to, I can e-mail a couple over if you could host them for me?
grievoustim - Mmm I know where your coming from but the Heckler wins for me personaly. I just love the looks and way it rides and feels and also not having ridden an Intense there is no way I'd accept a bike without having tested it out first and that would just prolong the replacement process even further.
Tinsy - You got mail
Carl
Very sorry to hear of you loss. Had 4 bikes nicked a while ago - locked up in the garage. Turner, Merlin ti & 2 specialized.
Really gutted for you. B~~tards - hope their knackers fester & drop off!!
Hope you get it back mate
Telemaster18 - Thanks for sorting out the pic.
Yeah makes you sick, every day some scrote has had off with someone elses pride and joy without any remorse at all. Festering knackers is not quite what I'd hope for, more a slip on the stairs and a snap of the neck. I know there would be no suffering but at least the world would be one less.
Just heard back off M&S and they have offered me a cash settlement which is very favorable and I have willingly accepted. Going to sort out the order for the new build tomorrow.
A happier than yesterday
Carl
good news on the payout, not ideal but at least you can now replace it!
Sorry for your loss
Don't forget to invest in a proper ground anchor to chain your new bike to. The thieves will come back for your new bike.
