Anyone ridden it's specifically the section just s of Lochmaddy that goes off-road/track almost Sw/S if so interested to hear what it's like. Racing Heb this weekend and it's an option on a leg.

Don't bother following it over Beinn Langais and to Carinish.

Colin - yes thats the one, maps shows it coming off S by the hotel then going offroad then crossing the B894 then offroad and meeting the A865. YOu can go round road by 2h penalty.

3 miles on paths of varying quality; 2 miles of pathless moorland; 8 miles on tarmac roads, half of which is traffic free.

Completing the circle-wasn't that bad. First section N-S mainly formed rough track, few plastic grid sections but mainly rideable. Second section less so, probably 60% on a cross bike with cooked legs. Beautiful spot though.

What was the weather like? We arrived to wet and windy conditions last night. Lovely day today though. Paths and tracks seem very wet.

Evil winds picked up on Sat, probably 50-60kmh rising to 50 gusting 80/90 Sunday morning. And rain.
