Got a pair of Bonts to try that are almost a good fit. How much can you modify the shape if you heat them up? Just want to shape the heel and bit and maybe the arch. Concerned I may bugger up the basic fit.

had some previously ... wanted to open them up around the little toe but
couldn't get them to budge at all ... sent them back in the end ๐Ÿ™
My current Spiuk's are moudable, but can't say I actually noticed any
difference in fit or feel !

Whatever you do don't put them in the tumbledrier - mine are a bit shorter than they used to be ๐Ÿ˜ณ

As long as I keep my toenails in trim it's just about bearable

๐Ÿ˜ฏ Not sure I'd be putting 200+ quid's worth of shoe in there!

You can do it as many times as you want, if it's not right first time. Mine (Bont Vaypor) didn't improve my hotfoot problem but I guess that's medical, but they are the most comfortable shoes I've had (which has been a lot with aforementioned hotfoot).

They really came into their own when I got some kind of corn or bunion on a toe that made it excruciating to ride, with a big day in the pyrenees coming up. Bunged them in the oven, gave my toe a bit more space with the blunt end of a screwdriver, not a peep from it.

I've done this with some Haglofs hiking boots, no complaints. Much preferred to Superfeet, etc.

The haglofs have a heat moldable insole (actually made by sole). The bonts actual sole is moldable.

I found that I could get the bonts to mold nicely on the arch but I couldn't pinch the heel in as snug as I wanted, although it didn't really matter as the wide strap works so well.

I've got some Bonts. Managed to mould the toe box nicely for my oddly long big toe on my right foot. I wore two pairs of socks with a piece of tissue paper folded up over my toe to squeeze them out. Worked a treat after three attempts.

I think it's easier to mould them outwards rather than inwards. I've got quite high arches, and these never budged noticeably in the moulding process even when I squeezed them in by hand. Maybe I was doing something wrong.

Great shoes BTW!

Edit: I should also add that my identical brother got some and had a 'mare getting them to fit. Oddly, he has smaller feet than me with shorter big toes. He still wears them though, so he must have got them to fit in the end.

Yep, I also had them as a special order in leather rather than the normall upper, which I think makes them a bit more comfortable as well.
