i have a no name headset in my garage-- or perhaps it's 'm-part'-- but anyway, i am building a 456 and was in two minds about whether to get a brand-name one for strength reasons or to go with what i have for budget reasons.

If it fits use it.

Keep it greased and adjusted it'll do you fine.

Top end headsets generally outlast whatever bike they're on. A £15 headset will do you for a few years and only cost you like £5 per year.

Unless you're a slave to fashion or want some bling - save your cash to spend elsewhere in the build.
