Any recommendations on a cheap but reliable headset press that can install both 1.5" and 1 1/8" headsets? Home mechanic so it doesn't need to be gold plated.
Thanks.

At home, I use a length of 20mm studding, one end has a nut fitted and is drilled to take a pressed in 6mm tommy-bar so there's no need for an extra spanner.A mix of Park multi-size, and Hope 1.5" adaptors then take care of most headset sizes. In work, a Park pro press does a similar job, but it's QR function saves time.

So presumably op would need both of those Cyclus presses then?

I think the O/O Jobsworth can cope with 1.5 as well as 1.1/8 but I've not used it so you might want to email them first

Threaded rod & nuts here too. Large washers sitting in the cups can bend so I now use oversize sockets slipped over the rod instead. Much better at pushing the cups in evenly.

I use the 1 1/8 Cyclus one with a suitable spacer I machined up for the 1 1/2 bit. A big washer would work the same. Works really well but as suggested a threaded bar with washers will also do the same job.
